The New York City subways mostly suck. They are scummed out and dirty, we flock to them and are treated like cattle during the weekdays… But Bird Courage came to save your body, mind and soul via their sweet pastral-astral tunes.

Behind the dingy and grotesque lie some of the most beautiful things to ever exist. Take Brooklyn-based band Bird Courage, whose New York City MTA busking efforts brought them together and helped to create some of the most powerful songwriting we have ever heard. By mixing elements of acoustic guitars, a warm-sounding ‘60s era electric bass, towel-covered bass drums and tight harmonies reminiscent of Crosby, Stills and Nash, these guys create a natural sense of time and place through their cosmic waves of musical and lyrical emotion. Check out our exclusive SHK Session of Bird Courage performing “Wanderer” above in the featured image (yes we are fancyyy, now!), and then get to know more about them with our BTS interview.
