Cobain’s daughter reminds Lana Del Rey that death “isn’t something to romanticize.”

Death isn’t cool and glamorizing it for millions of young fans is even worse. Luckily, young Frances Bean, Kurt Cobain’s daughter, has spoken out against Lana Del Rey’s recent comments in a Rolling Stones interview, in which she said she wished she was dead already.

Frances wrote on Twitter yesterday that “The death of young musicians isn’t something to romanticize.” Frances continued that “I’ll never know my father because he died young, and it becomes a desirable feat because people like you think it’s ‘cool.’ Well, it’s fucking not. Embrace life, because you only get one life. The people you mentioned wasted that life. Don’t be one of those people. You’re too talented to waste it away.”

Some of Lana’s fans got defensive, with one of them telling Frances to “leave her the fuck alone.” Francis fought back saying “I’m not attacking anyone, I have no animosity towards Lana. I was just trying to put things in perspective from personal experience.”

It is refreshing to hear about the controversial issue from the perspective of a daughter. As much as we love Lana’s cool, dark and moody hits, we would love for her to strive towards something a bit brighter – someone could even tell her she will still be cool.
