Subway graffiti – making underground travel more okay for decades.

stuff subway graffiti ads funny

If you’re like me, whenever I happen across a well-graffitied subway ad, I can’t help but admire the wit and luck of whomever created the piece. Also called “peeling” the act of cutting through ads had yielded some thoroughly entertaining images lining the walls of subway stations in cities across the world. While often hilarious, some peelings are just straight up gorgeous, so I’ve included some of those in this list to cater to all sensibilities.

Last season’s Mad Men posters were perfect for graffiti artists.

And this is just creepy. But like the funny kind of creepy, right?

Technically not a subway ad peeling, but an infamous “wet paint” sign got a hilarious makeover on the G train.

Creepy, crazy, cool.

And that’s a wrap for me! I’d love to see what subway ad graffiti you guys have discovered lining the walls of NYC’s underbelly. Post them in the comment section or share on Instagram and tag us @SHKmagazine!
