New York City has over 8 million residents, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t a lonely place.

In fact, feeling a sense of community and belonging in a densely populated city can be incredibly difficult. We went around and interviewed people on the street about what they think is the difference between being lonely and alone, and whether or not New York is a lonely place to be. The answers we got were diverse and inspiring, and provided some insight as to what it means to be independent in a big city. Let us know what you think, too. Is New York a lonely city?
