Fine jewelry designer Hirotaka fashions whimsical silver and gold treasures that are largely inspired by some of nature’s wonders — serpents, chameleons, winged creatures and the sea horse are a number of honored guests in his work. It’s a blessing upon our jewelry boxes that at 18-years-old, Hirotaka dropped his studies in International Affairs to pursue his passion for jewelry making. Honing his skills over the years by working for a Japanese high-end jewelry-design house, as well as spending time creating bespoke jewelry for private clients, he finally reconnected with the curious boy within himself (who was always fascinated by the shapes of insects and stones) and launched his imaginative eponymous line in 2009. Hirotaka jewelry is singular, wearable art for the individual. — Anastasia Kudrashova
